On one Sunday each month, the Hangover Hash House Harriers run or walk a trail. Our kennel is one of the many hash groups that belong to the world’s most eccentric running club, the Hash House Harriers.

The Hash House Harriers is a more social version of Hare and Hounds, where you join a pack of hounds (the runners) to chase down the trail set by the hare or hares (other runners), then gather together at the On In for a bit of social activity known as the Down Downs where you will enjoy some well deserved refreshments, a bit of banter, maybe some songs and the occasional feast.

All are welcome, young and old, fast or slow, so please don’t wait to get in shape, but just come on out and join us. The only prerequisite to hashing is a sense of humor! What makes the Hash so popular is that it is flexible and appeals to everyone in society.

We’ve been called a ‘drinking club with a running problem; running is loosely used to mean running, jogging, walking or even crawling. Our hashes are not races and not to be taken seriously. The main objective is to have fun while working up a decent thirst which will be relieved at the après-hash session.
